What is Wok Ring?
Wok ring is a piece of metal in the shape of a circle that is designed to fit on the cooking track and support the wok during cooking. The construction of traditional furnaces used in canton cooking consists mainly of open flame, over which WOK can be supported and used for cooking. Traditional woks, with a rounded bottom, work quite well on these types of stoves, but it is often difficult to use them with a flat range or gas cooking. The WOK ring can be placed through a gas or electrical range that supports the WOK round bottom, keeping it near the heat source. Wok is a large pelvis that is often used in Chinese or canton cooking that has wide, deep sides and rounded or flat bottom. Traditional WOKS has rounded DNA that works well with stoves that are often used in canton cooking. These stoves usually have a large tocker burner consisting of an open flame and a ring around it, which can be easily included and used for cooking.
WOK with a rounded bottom, however, does not work well for cooking on a standard US inlet. These often use gas or electricity to either heat the coil on the range, or create a flame with support over it on which pots and pans with a flat bottom can be cooked. In order to use a rounded wok on this type of flat cooking surface, the WOK ring is usually used. The WOK ring is made of a relatively robust metal material and can be placed over an electrical reach or around the gas range flame.
Cooks can then use WOK ring and heat source in it to support rounded wok and cook in a way similar to traditional canton methods. Some furnaces and culinary peaks include coils or gas grills that are interchangeable, allowing the use of the ring instead of flat surfeso. Wok ring is usually made slightly conical, rather than a straight ring, so it can be turned on each side with a slightly different circuity. This allows you to use a wide range of WOKS on one ring and that the chef can adjust how close the heat reaches the bottom of the WOK. The openings in the Wok circle allow the air to move through it and ensure that heat is maintained.
