What is Endomorf?
The word "endomorf" is once a common term for the type of human body characterized by a greater percentage of fat and bone robustness. The endomorphic body usually has excess fat stored in the trunk and thighs, while extreme specimens have rounded, sometimes bulbous shapes. Endomorf is one of three somatotypes, the classification of human bodies based on the distribution of muscle, bones, fat and other tissues.
The other two somatotypes are ectomorphs and mesomorphs. Ectomorphs tend to have long bones and predisposition. On the other hand, mesomorphs are strongly muscular, but also have a small body fat. Scientists once believed that the type of human body remained the same, even if it gained the characteristics of another. For example, athletic mesomorph could gradually begin to look more like an endomorph with age and lack of exercise. Sheldon founded somatotypes on three types of cells created during embryonic development. Endodermal cells form the digestive tract, mesodermal cells grow into muscle tissue and circleThe system and ectodermal cells become a nervous system and skin. Sheldon theorized that endomorphs had longer digestive systems that contributed to their body weight and tend to gain weight. Three classification conditions for the body are still used as instructions of exercise specialists, but a large part of Sheldon's work in this area has long been discredited.
Sheldon's use of somatotypes has become particularly problematic when he tried to combine specific personality features with the types of body. Endomorphs were assumed to be carefree extroverts who were looking for pleasure, especially with food. The mesomorphs, theorized sheldon, were more active and aggressive, and ectomorphs were usually sensitive, intelligent introverts with a tendency to nervous excitement. Many modern scientists find that Sheldon's work is unpleasantly overlapping with eugenics, selective breeding of human beings. Eugenics gained acquaintance in the 30th and40.
The term "endomorf" is not used to help people identify their own metabolic tendencies these days. Exercise of magazines and fitness trainers support specific regimes for overweight people and emphasize different exercises to help them get rid of undesirable pounds. Such modes tend to emphasize aerobic activities burning fats such as running, walking, cycling and any movement that increases heart rate. Even those who still use these terms note that classifications are not rigid and that many human bodies are a combination of somatotypes.
