What is Baijiu?

Baijio, which literally translates from Chinese language as "white alcohol", is a strong distilled alcohol that is traditional in Chinese culture. Baijiu is usually made of grains such as sorghum or wheat, but Baijiu made in northern China can be made of sticky rice instead. It can be similar to the appearance as vodka, but has a unique taste that is not comparable to any other type of spirit. Historians say that the tradition of Baijio production can be up to 7,000 years old.

Baijiu is considered a Chinese national drink and is often present on special occasions such as birthdays and business negotiations, and whenever a foreign guest is present at the dining table. Usually, Baijio is served warm or around room temperature and is poured from a ceramic bottle into small shotgun glasses. In Chinese culture, it is considered a rough rejection of a glass. However, the drink is rarely offered to women in Chinese society.

As with wine, it is possible to buy either a cheap, medium or expensive bottle of Baijiu.A low -degree Baijui bottle can be purchased for several dollars, but a bottle that has been for many years can cost more than $ 3,000 (USD). Baijio can also be categorized according to the fragrance. The traditional scent of the beverage is the scent of sauce that can be disgusting for the Western pallet; heavy fragrance; Light fragrance; Rice aroma; laminated fragrance; and honey fragrance. Some people prefer heavier and fragrant Baijui, while others enjoy light varieties.

Baijio may also be available either flavored or unwavering. There are many flavored types of Baijio, but many include medicinal herbs or tea leaves. No matter what type of Baijio you drink, you can always expect the alcohol content to be extremely high. Baijiu usually contains between 40 and 60 percent of ethanol, or 80 to 120 evidence.
