What is Borage?
The herb is a plant whose leaves, seeds or flowers are used to flavor food or in medicine. Other uses of herbs include cosmetics, dyes and perfumes. The name comes from the Latin word Herba , which means "green crops". Borage, also called bugloss , is a herb, borago officinalis , in the same family, boraginaceae, such as Virginia Cowslip and Virginia Bluebell. It is an annual that grows wild in the Mediterranean, especially in Crete and Sicily, and cultivates elsewhere.
