What is gazpacho?

The term gazpacho describes chilled soup, but is also used to describe the type of salad of Spanish origin. Many people attribute Moors with their invention. When people think of this soup, they think of a bowl based on tomatoes that can have peppers and coriander added for aroma. However, tomatoes and peppers are both new world foods and evidence of Gazpacho prevents European contact with this vegetable. What we now consider to be Gazpacho is a variant of a much older recipe. It is a creamy soup containing ground almonds, cucumbers, yogurt and garlic. Adding yoghurt and almonds makes this soup much higher in protein than tomato -based versions. Because the soup was served chilled, it would be very refreshing under the hot sun of the Moorish climate. White Gazpacho is easy to prepare and almost resembles pico de gallo salsa in consistenance, because most recipes recommend the stress of the soup. This could be served with pieces of fresh bread to soak any liquid.

Green Gazpacho is another variant that could exist before the tomatoes introduced to Spain. Rather than tomatoes, the soup relies on spinach, lettuce, parsley and other greenery to give the soup a unique green color. This variety is an excellent soup for dieters or for those who want to add more vegetables to their diet. A couple for four can have up to 4 cups (30 grams) of salad and spinach. It also contains yogurt and chicken broth and often relies on mint for further taste. This chilled variant, which is assumed that it was created in Andalusia, is both refreshing.

Gazpacho based on red or tomatoes has numerous recipes. Tomatoes can be mixed or crushed to create almost smooth vegetable juice, or can be sliced to add additional texture and make a salad soup. Red Gazpacho can also have a few sweet peppers added and may includecucumber. Unlike white or green gazpacho, the soup tends to not contain yogurt that can easily separate due to acidity in tomatoes. It also usually does not have chicken broth, although it is easy to add.

Traditional gazpacho is usually flavored with cumin, the spices of beloved in the Middle East and South America. In the US, Red Gazpacho is often flavored with coriander, which is nicely paired with the flavor of pepper and tomatoes. The coriander and the hills of sour cream can provide this bowl with a pleasant and simple presentation and health benefits are again excellent. The soup is traditionally served with roasted bread, but it would also be excellent accompanied by warm fresh tortillas or tortilla chips

shoppers can also find canned Spanish gazpacho in special grocery stores or on the Internet. However, the preparation of Any variety Gazpacho is fast and does not require cooking time. In addition, canned versions can never replace the quality of freshly prepared soup.
