What is the hoof?

hooves are small potato dumplings, somewhat similar to gnocchi, commonly occurring in Belarusian and Polish cuisine. They are usually made using a simple dough, which consists mainly of potatoes, and are usually not filled or filled with any other substance. These dumplings are cooked in water to cook them, and then often fry in butter, similar to pierogies , or are served with different watering. The hooves are commonly served with fried bread crumbs, cooked onions and softened in butter, a combination of roasted onions and bacon, or even mushrooms. They can also be referred to as Kydytki , a Belarusian word with the same meaning. The hooves are usually produced by the first cooking of potatoes in the water until they are cooked and soft. The potatoes are then scattered into soft and lumps, or pushed Ricer to ensure a light, fluffy potato texture in preparation for their use to make dough.

These prepared potatoes are then combined with flour, egg and salt and mixed thoroughly to create the dough. The dough on the hoof then emerges to the surface and is divided into smaller flat pieces. Each piece is then srotted into a long coil, similar to the snake, which is then used to produce individual dumplings. This long dough role is cut into pieces at an angle of diagonal angle to form dumplings with a shape that resembles a small hoof.

The hooves are then usually placed in boiling water until they are raised, and then the floating is left to cook for more minutes. They can then be removed from the water and set aside until they are ready to serve. They can be adequately served, with a topping or fried slightly in a small amount of oil or butter until it is golden brown.

If served without frying, the hoof is usually served with a number of different watering. The most popular are breadcrumbs cooked slightly in butter or onion that isChopped and roasted in butter, often served with sliced, crispy bacon. Some recipes can also invite a brown mushroom sauce to dumplings.
