What is the sugar dough?

Sugar dough can be purchased at a food store or easy to make at home from zero with basic pantry objects. Eggs, enriched flour, baking powder and butter form a simple base of the dough for sugar - of course matched to name sugar. Many create final products for holiday cookies. Others prefer to drop them into chaotic clusters for baking and absorb them without decoration as soon as they cool down.

When mixing and baking with accuracy, sugar biscuits will have a significant butter taste. The component ratio is key. For every 2.5 cups (591 ml) flour is required about 0.33 cup (158 mg) sugar, along with two egg yolks, 0.5 teaspoon (2.5 ml) baking powder and 1 cup (about 250 mg) butter. Many cooks also add about 1 teaspoon (5 ml) to this mixture, each of the vanilla, cinnamon, almond extract and salt.

flour powder and pastry are mixed first. Then butter and sugar are scored until the mixture is fully whipped and terry. The last yolks and flavors go into the butter. LastThe step is to slowly beat the flour into the butter egg yolks - a blender or hands - until the dough is a machine gun.

Some chefs accumulate dough on greased cookies and simply bake them at about 350 ° F (about 175 ° C) for a maximum of 10 minutes, maybe with some sugar to the top. Many others, however, take the sugar dough with a roller over a floured counter to the pencil leaves. Then cookies are used to provide cookies with unique shapes such as stars or holiday bells. Some also rotate their cookies in about the middle of baking to provide the final cookies of texture uniformity.

One variation for traditional sugar dough replaces cream cheese with flour, giving cut sugar biscuits a more definitive shape and a distinctly creamy taste. With the original recipe, chefs avoid the temptation of the integration of butter directly into sugar and egg yolks. Butter must be adequately softenedin order to write the right consistency and taste. Various citrus cortex of orange or lemon peel can lend sugar dough with twisting and many decorated with tops with icing or other edible decorations to add visual interest. However, many more than many consider it excessive, which destroys the expected simplicity of confectionery.
