What is Tortell?
Tortell is a pastry that is popularly consumed as a Christmas meal in Catalan cuisine. The o -shaped pastry is traditionally included in desserts served on January 6, a date that indicates the end of twelve days of Christmas and some celebrate as a day of three wise men. It is a common practice to fulfill the tortell pastry with a figure of one of the three wise men and beans. A person who gets a figure in his part is the happy one who gets to wear a paper crown and a day. A person who gets beans on the other hand will be paid for pastry or tidy after eating. It can be decorated with fruit and nuts and stuffed with cream or chocolate. The ingredients used to make tortell are flour, sugar, milk, eggs, salt, yeast, lemon peel, honey, fruit pieces, nuts and butter. Milk and eggs are mixed and glowing and flour, sugar, salt and yeast are carefully mixed into the mixture. The butter is then mixed into the mixture until it is dissolved correctly.
