What are Lunar Maria?
Lunar Maria (Singular: Mare) are dark places on the moon. Maria means the "sea" in Latin and Lunar Maria has its name because of its ocean appearance, unlike lighter spots on the moon. But the lunar Maria is not water, just a darker type of rock. The moon lacks any liquid humidity, although scientists believe that water molecules may be present in some places. The first mission that lands on the Moon, Apollo 11, landed in a smaller lunar clock, the sea of calming and the lower phase of the lunar module is still here. Lunar Maria is a flood basalt made of huge ancient volcanic eruptions on the Moon, similar to the eruptions that caused a mass extinction on Earth 251 Mpřed flights. Lunar Maria exists mainly on the month. On the other hand, which cannot be displayed from the ground and has been photographed only by a few space probes, it is almost without Maria.

Within millions of years, this heat can build underground until the volcanic eruption is sufficient. When these huge eruptions occurred, the resulting lava flows crawled into the low -laid parts of the moon, many of which are bumpy pans. Laying the South Pole on the Moon, the largest known impact crater in the solar system, is only modestly covered by the mare pool.
Most crew missions for the Moon landed in Lunar Maria because of their relative flatness compared to Lunar Highlands. Rock samples were returned from Lunar Highlands and Maria and differ significantly in their content. Maria lunar rocks have a higher iron content, which is partly responsible for their darker color.
