What caused the dinosaurs to extract?

All dinosaurs, with the exception of several who would later become modern birds, extinct about 65.5 million years ago, during Crotaceous-Terciar EXTICTION. No land animal larger than the cat survived. The sky has largely been darkened for years to decades and killed numerous species of plants and microbes that rely on photosynthesis to survive. The species that depended on the consumption of plant matter, such as all vegetarian dinosaurs, disappeared when their food sources died and unfolded. In North America alone, 57% of plant species disappeared. In paleontology, there is a layer of rock that corresponds to this extinction, known as the boundary of K-T.

We do not know today with 100% confidence that really caused this massive extinction. However, the prevail theory, journalist of the Nobel Award Luis Alvarez, is that the six -mile asteroid influenced Earth and released the energy of 2 million atomic bombs and it rains molten magma across the surface of the planet.

The theory of extinction of alvareze is supported by two facts: first, a huge chicxulub crater on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico can be dated to the time of the K-T boundary. Secondly, the border rocks of K-T contain an unusually high proportion of iridium, a substance very rare on the Earth's surface, but more abundant in asteroids. This indicated that the debris of the impact dropped everywhere in the world. This illustrates the destruction of the impact. The rock under the crater is rich in gypsum, which would create clouds of aerosol sulfur oxide after collision, resulting in sour rain and killing of sea creatures that depend on their shells for survival.

Being very large and exposed to the surface and also more dependent on smooth ecosystems than less specialized plants and microorganisms, dinosaurs were dinosai -on the onslaught of extinction effects. Chicxulub Asteroid killed the ground at an angle and traveled to the northwest. This would throw a magma-in, ballistically reentingEjecta all over what Central is nowadays, an area known for its large dinosaur populations.

Direct heat effects could kill 99% or more dinosaurs within a few hours. Those who were able to survive the rain of magma would die in the coming years or decades, their food sources have dried up and ecosystems have completely disintegrated. Life would never have been the same again: since then it has not been dinosaurs, but smaller folded animals that would be on planet Earth.
