What are Remote Workers?
(telework, telecommuting, e-commuting, work at home, e-work, work from home) is a work arrangement that allows employees to enjoy flexible working hours and locations. In other words, commuting to work every day is replaced by communication links. Many people work from home, and some use mobile communication technology to work in coffee shops or other locations. These people are called nomads or network commuters. Telecommuting is a relatively broad term that refers to the use of telecommutation instead of work-related travel, thus eliminating the limitation of the distance of teleworking. A successful remote work process requires a results-based management style, rather than paying close attention to individual employee management styles. This is called objective management rather than observation management.
