What Is a Responsibility Assignment Matrix?

Responsibility distribution matrix is a matrix structure formed by combining the work required by the contract work breakdown structure elements and the functional organization responsible for completing the work. The cost breakdown is formed by the intersection of the work breakdown structure of the contract and the organizational breakdown structure of the plan. In this structure, the intersection represents the set of work packages needed to complete the child deliverables located on it, and next to it is the organizational unit responsible for completing the work packages at the intersection. Control can be checked from two aspects: results and responsibilities. During the project implementation phase, progress can be tracked vertically on the deliverables or horizontally on organizational responsibilities. [1]
