What does the reception manager do?

The reception manager works in the hospitality industry, in facilities such as a hotel, resort or inn. The daily duties of someone in this position may vary depending on the size of the facility and the number of other employees who work there, but it is a challenging work that requires a person to have excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well with others. There are several different ways to enter the position of the hospitality industry. Many people who are planning a career in the field follow university education in the field of hospitality or business management to gain valuable knowledge. However, the university degree is not a requirement and many managers have many years of experience instead of formal education. In general, it takes at least three to five years of work at the reception before becoming a manager, and promotions to supervisory roles are common before they become a real manager.
