At noon on December 15, when law enforcement officials of the Quality Supervision Bureau arrived at the scene, four or five workers in the processing plant were processing "toxic monosodium glutamate".
According to Tong Wei, a law enforcement officer of the First Division of Inspection of the Quality Supervision and Administration Bureau of Guiyang City, the factory has complete business licenses, health permits and other relevant documents, but they have added industrial salt that must not be eaten when processing MSG. "If the body ingests too much industrial salt at one time, it can cause cramps, cramps, and even death."
According to Tong Wei, there are many factories similar to adding industrial salt as food ingredients, but this is the first factory to add industrial salt to MSG since they enforced the law.

The counterfeit brand was printed on the MSG packaging bag of the food factory with the words produced by Shanghai Tianxian Condiment Co., Ltd. The manufacturer wrote Guiyan Yunyan Dingwei Food Factory in Guizhou Province, and the origin was Baoji, Shaanxi, China. Law enforcement officials told reporters that if the food factory does not have a letter of authorization from Shanghai Tianxian Condiment Company, Dingwei Food Factory will also involve counterfeiting the brand of the Shanghai company.
The person in charge of Dingwei Food Factory did not come to the scene. At the scene, Xie Yongzhong, the uncle who claimed to be the owner of the factory, was interviewed by reporters. However, most of the questions raised during the interview were unclear. Regarding the whereabouts of "toxic monosodium glutamate", he said that according to his understanding, the food processing plant opened shortly after mid-November and was mainly sold in counties below Guizhou. "Guiyang people generally don't buy this unfamiliar MSG. This MSG is cheap. What I know is like some small shops in Tongren area." Xie told reporters.
