What is a child massage?

Baby Massage is an ancient practice to apply regular, gentle pressure on the baby's body for their physical, mental and emotional well -being. While a child's massage has been practiced for centuries across regions, including India, Pakistan and Africa, vimala Schneider McClure has been popularized in the West over the 70s. McClure traveled to India and recorded the benefits of infant massage when visiting an orphanage. When she returned to her house in the United States, she wrote about practice and founded the International Association of Infant Massage.

The advantages of massaging children are numerous. At the physical level, infant massage helps to reduce gas and colic, stimulates blood flow, strengthens immunity, increases nervous function, improves sleep patterns and helps premature children. The intellect and motor skills of children even benefited from this practice. Infant massages can also fortify the bond between parents and children. While some parents of Choos take their children to professional trained in the techniques of the child's massage, they cane be a child massage successfully done at home:

  • creating the right atmosphere. The child should be released in the room about 78 degrees Fahrenheit (25.5 degrees Celsius) and over the last 30 minutes. Dimeting lights also help reduce the level of stress of the child and fear of new activities.
  • undressing a child. Performing the massage on a non -covered child allows the child to naturally respond to the physical stimulation of the child's own massage. In cold weather, however, unaffected body areas should be covered to protect themselves from the disease.
  • Location of the baby on a soft, spongy surface. Location of children on the bed or lap makes them more receptive to the massage. Pillows can be used to help the child feel safe, safe and comfortable, but children respond better to the skin of the contact that offers bare legs.
  • on the hand of inserting grape oil or sweet almond oil and wipe them to warm it up. NatureRemoving oils are well suited in the baby's massage because they are smooth, easily absorbed into the skin and can be troubled if the child puts in the mouth. Other types of natural oils, such as coconut, apricot, saffron or avocado, can work as well if they contain vitamin E and have been pressed cold. Patch-testing oil on the baby's skin about 30 minutes before the massage can warn against potential allergies.
  • begins by stroking the length of the baby from his head to his fingers. The use of the same amount of pressure on the baby's body seems to be in the eyes without hurting them, the right amount of force to use. In this order, the face of the child's face, shoulders, arms, chest, stomach, legs, ankles, legs and legs should be made. Gentle compression on attachments can stimulate blood flow. Crying, tensioning or other signs of discomfort should be taken as signals for ending the massage session.
  • using the fingers and sides of the fingers gently lift the body of the baby's body. Children tend to respond to circular movements on the abdomen and around PUPKA especially well. The scalp, the peaks of the eyelids, the ears and the area between the eyebrows also deserve attention. Because each child is different, massage movement and massage of areas should be informed about them.
  • connecting to a child. Establishing an eye contact and talking to a child offers an opportunity to connect. Some parents sing or explain to each new movement to the child as a way to create communication and strengthen the developing verbal skills.

Baby massages that become a regular part of the child's routine should be performed at a certain time during the day so that the child can get used to their acceptance. Many parents decided to make a calming baby massage in the morning, after baths or before taking a nap. In advertising, announcing the massages that are performed, allow children to attach the word to action. As a result, they will be able to indicate their sensitivity to one when it is announced and offered.
