What Is a Hip Sprain?
The hip (groin) is where the torso connects to the legs, allowing your torso and legs to move forward, backward, and laterally. Since the hip is the center of a series of body movements, it is prone to potential strain. Especially athletes, dancers and manual workers.

- The direct cause of hip strain is due to bruises or lacerations in the muscles from the pelvis to the thighs, and may also involve the connection between muscles and bones.
- Mild hip sprains can recover on their own after hours or days of rest. If the muscle tissue does tear, the healing process can take 1 week or more. Severe or relapsed cases may also require surgery to repair damaged muscles and tendons.
