What is adrenarche?
Adrenarche occurs in children aged six and eight years, when the adrenal cortex begins to produce more androgens in preparing for the advent of puberty. During this time, the adrenal bark increases and distinguishes into three separate parts, each responsible for the production of a specific steroid hormone. Occasionally the child begins before normal age. Excess hormones of androgens can cause premature changes in the baby's body. There are three divisions in the adrenal cortex, then each segment produces a different steroid hormone. Zona reticularis begins to generate androgens, Zona glomerulosa produces mineralocorticoids and Zona Fasculata creates glucocorticoids.
Premature adrerenarcha or early sexual ripening is suspicious when a child begins to develop a certain condition of the physical character of an adult. The first indication is usually an increase in the noticeable odor of the body. Hair can begin to grow under the armpits and near the weaknesses. Acne can also begin to develop as the production of androgens increases. PremiumAdrenarche's dreams are often more aggressive than other children of the same age. Girls and boys with this condition may have problems with classmates and can be depressed or downloaded.
Research shows that girls with premature adrerarchants are more likely to develop other hormones related disorders later in life. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is more likely to be seen in women with an adrenarche's early advent. These girls are also exposed to a higher risk of fertility problems due to disorder of reproductive and endocrine systems.
One more pleasant androgen production can be a weight gain. Overweight children are more likely to be seen by a doctor to assess early sexual maturation. The premature development of androgens can lead to insulin resistance that could lead to diabetes.
The diagnosis of premature adrerenary requires only a short visit to the office. Will be in favor ofLeave a physical examination to confirm the signs of timely sexual maturation and a urine test will be performed. Ketosteroids present in urine often indicate the onset of androgens production.
Recommended treatment of premature androgens production differs from doctor to doctor. Some doctors suggest daily medicines to reduce the amount of androgens produced. Cyproterone acetate, ketoconazole and spironolactone are antiandrogen drugs used to treat boys and girls with condition. Many doctors do not believe that drugs are beneficial and recommend only observation of the child for the early development of another characteristic of puberty.
