What is aware of the backpack?

Backpack awareness concerns growing concerns of primarily ergotherapists about the weight of children or even adult students' backpacks. Too much or incorrect transmission of things can lead to tension on the back, neck, arms and even body damage if things are always incorrectly carried incorrectly. Given the growing concerns that children could suffer injuries, organizations such as the American Association for Ergotherapy (Aota) have created days, such as the day of awareness of the backpack, usually observed in September, when many children return to school, and issued instructions for safe transport methods for backpacks. AOTA recommends that this weight should not exceed 15% of the child's weight. If you carry more books to school back and forth, it is quite easy to cross this limit immediately. For this reason, some schools are now giving children's books "Stay at home" and have books in the classroom for the use of students during class time. Alternatively, if a large number of books beyond weight limits must be transmitted, it is better alternAtivou.

Other instructions important in the backpack awareness include safe transmission methods. For example, the backpack should be safely attached in front and should always be worn on both shoulders. A heavy backpack carried over one arm can cause injury or at least a temporary muscle pain and tension. AOTA also recommends in its publications about the backpack that heavier objects will be wrapped closest to the back of the child, with lighter objects in front or further, and that well -extended straps will support more comfort.

Unfortunately, not all schools make it easier for the backpack. Some schools can disable backpacks in all Hallways dressing room will be placed in the locker at the beginning of the day and at the end discarded. This may worsen back or neck problems if the student has to transfer unpleasantly shaped binders and books into two or more classes, especially if they exceed the weight limits.

Other ŠkoLY cannot afford to implement instructions for backpack awareness. For example, some schools cannot afford to provide students with more than one copy of the same book, which means that they will have to wear all books every day (especially if high school or secondary school students). If more binders are required for class work, the weight problem deteriorates.

If your children attend a school that does not recognize the backpack and your child complains about back or neck pain, or normally has to carry domestic material that exceeds the weight requirements, you may want to deal with it by a teacher, director, parent organization or school board. Children in pain is less likely to be attentive students, Aota and many supportive parents say that awareness of the backpack should be followed by action to help eliminate potential injuries of children.
