What is the body image?

The body image is the extent of emotional, psychological and visual (whether true or not) of the body perception. Specifically, it is the way we think, feel and perceive our bodies based on a wide range of internal and external factors. In general, as we see each other, it does not have as much to do with our body to be anyone else. Instead, the image of the body is the way we see our own bodies, which is often not the same perception that people should. In particular, women may have greater distortion of the body image than men, which partly explains a significant incidence of eating disorders.

The way we perceive our bodies often has a direct connection with self -esteem and is partially influenced by our exposure to most forms of visual media, which preferences very slim young bodies from any other type. That few people actually fit into this category to change a big difference. The body image is often not logical nEbo realistic and the body of man is compared to the ideal rather than the real that surrounds them daily. Even a person who is slim and fit can find areas of his body as "problem areas". The thighs can be too large, too small the back, the maternal sign or the mole can be considered too large, or the breast may not be the right shape. Science has shown that the body image is often distorted. What we see when we look in the mirror may not have any effect on the truth.

In a smaller context, it shows as how to look good naked on the lifelong channel, they showed how common the body image distortion is. With the host of Carson Kressley (from Queer Eye for the glory of a direct guy), women underwent an experiment where they would assess the problem area by looking at other women of similar size. They are asked to place themselves in the assembly of these women and often placed. At least overestimate the size of their problem areas by a few inches and often believethat their problem area is much greater than it really is.

close control of the body, especially when a person is compared with a media ideal, can act as an invisible magnifying glass. The hips that seem too large are in fact much smaller than one perceives. Some women and men can alternately distort their image down. If one has gained weight, one can still stick to the image of the past and do not realize that it would be useful to lose weight. More often, however, the problem distorts up and in the most serious cases, food intake disorders are caused by a body image that is seriously distorted. For most, as we perceive, especially in those areas that we do not like, can simply lead to misfortune about what we look like.

When building an image of a healthy body, it may be wise to realize that you may not be able to trust your own eyes. It is difficult to compare the ideal forms and characters that constantly surround us. Instead of emphasizing it, cYou hate about your body, learn to receive the body you have, and find things you like can be very useful. It does not hurt to eat healthy and get a regular pleasant exercise, but it is important to realize that there can be many reasons for how you are shaped. Genetics, age and health can play a factor in the type of body you have and these things are not under your control.

6 Look for help in time to restore these conditions to sound mental health and generally stronger self -esteem and more realistic look at how you actually appear.
