What is breast cancer negative on estrogen?

breast cancer cells sometimes have what they are called receptors, which are small protein molecules. Hormones can connect to specific receptors and triggering effects in the cell. Some types of cancer or malignant breast tumors have cellular receptors to which hormonal estrogen is joined, which stimulates growing cells. In the case of a estrogen receptor of negative breast cancer or er-negative cancer, cells do not have hormonal receptors for estrogen. The presence or absence of estrogen receptors varies breast cancer treatment, since hormonal therapies that block the receptors may be used in estrogen -positive tumors, slowing breast cell growth. Like estrogen -specific receptors, other receptors for hormonal progesterone or protein known as HER2 may be present. When receptors are found, treatment can be administered using drugs that focus on these receptor and act against cancer growth. Some tumors will not show ŽReady of the receptors, in which case they are described as triple negative. Since breast cancer negative to estrogen does not respond to the level of progesterone or estrogen body, it is usually not possible to treat it with hormonal therapies.

To see if the breast tumor contains cells with receptors, a small tissue sample, known as a biopsy, is usually used and studied under a microscope. Different methods can be used for biopsy, but the needle is most commonly used after anesthesia of the area to cut the tissue core. In cases where the tumor is too small to feel, display techniques such as ultrasonic scanning can be used to guide the needles to the place. If the tumor is found to consist of breast cancer cell cells on a estrogen receptor, the treatment plan will also depend on the size of the tumor, how aggressive and whether it has spread.

6 This might include the removal of allchest or just an area containing a tumor. Radiotherapy can be used after surgery to kill the remaining tumor cells and could also be given chemotherapy to prevent cancer.

Sometimes there is chemotherapy that uses medicines to destroy cancer cells, before surgery to reduce the tumor. Although the cancer is er-negative, it could have receptors for HER2, in which case a drug known as Herceptin®, which focuses on HER2 receptors, could be administered. If the estrogen receptor negative breast cancer has spread to other areas of the body, treatment is not possible, but treatment may be used for the disease, such as chemotherapy for a long time, reduced symptoms and improve everyday life.
