What is a neophobia?

Neofobia is the fear of new things. One of the most common ways that neophobia is manifested is in the form of fear of new or different foods. This phobia is a form of social anxiety disorder and there are a number of available treatment options, while some patients simply grow out of their concerns over time, while others can benefit from therapy and other treatments. Treatment may include a therapy with a therapist, desensitization led by a mental health expert and sometimes the use of drugs to master feelings of stress and anxiety.

There are some natural explanations for neofobia. Many people prefer routine and acquaintances, feel more comfortable when they know their environment well and when there are things that are happening around them, predictable.
