What are portal robots?

The

portal robot is also known as the Cartesian robot. It looks very different from the popular robot image. It is a stationary robot and usually contains at least three elements of movement. In this case, each movement refers to linear movement in one direction.

For the portal robot, each of these movements is arranged so that it is perpendicular to each other and is usually marked X, Y and Z. X and Y are located in the horizontal plane and Z is vertical. Think of X and Y were the width and length of the box and from the height of the box. The interior of this box is referred to as a robot's work envelope. The portal robot can move things anywhere in this envelope or perform some operation on the item in the envelope.

A typical application for the portal robot is a device assembly. The portal robot that performs this action is also referred to as Select and place the robot . The components needed for devices are somehow brought to workThe robot and the portal robot raise each component and attach or place it on the assembled device. The collected device must also be in the work cover of the portal robot. At the end of the movement from the movement, the grippers of different types can be screwed to help grasp the parts. Rotary movements can also be added to the direction of the Z and the work envelope to allow more handling of the part.

Another typical application of a portal robot is to perform part of the action. The part must be placed in the work envelope and the portal robot can be programmed to weld, drill holes or perform various other operations on this section. Robot robot is added rotary movements and suitable tools to allow it to perform the required function.

Gantry robots have several advantages of robots over MO. The underneath robots can be very large and fill the entire room if necessary. Portal robots usually have much better position accuracy than their competitors.

OverwhelmingThe position of

refers to how close the robot can place part in the instructed location. Financial robots place parts exactly where it is programmed. That's why portal robots are usually used for selection and location applications. Financial robots are easier to program with regard to movement than other robots. If the part needs to be moved from the point (3.6.9) to the point (4.2.8), it is simply a movement of 1 unit in the direction of x, -4 units in the y and -1 direction Z.

Genter Robots also have the disadvantage of being stationary. Everything must be brought to the work envelope and removed from the work envelope after completion. A financial robot cannot go to a part; Part must come to the portal robot.
