What is a rice crop?

Rice crop is a type of cereal grain intentionally grown and harvested for human consumption. The growth of rice crops is one of the oldest known forms of agriculture that believes it dates back to approximately 8000 BCE. Depending on the availability of water, rice crops may be wet or dry grown. Although growth, harvesting and processing rice crop is the main food clamp for most of the words, it remains a complicated process, both working and resources demanding.

For thousands of years, oryza sativa or Asian rice, grew wildly for most of the Asian subcontinent. Historians estimate that while wild rice has been a major part of Asian diet for thousands of years, it has not become a widely cultivated crop up to somewhere between 8000-6000 BCE, although some studies have suggested a much earlier date. In Africa, in Africa became a related grain, known as oryza Glabberrima , also grown crop around 1,000 BCE. As a domesticated crop, rice has become rapidlyCentral basic grain for cultures around the world, a tradition that continues in the modern era.

The life cycle of rice crops includes several important steps, namely cultivation, harvest and processing. In irrigated areas or flood plates, the rice field is flooded with shallow water, then the seedlings of the rice are planted, either by hand or spreading by small, low flying aircraft. In areas with smaller water, rice can be simply planted in dry soil, similar to other cereal crops. The ripening of the crop lasts four or five months, depending on the climate and the growing method.

Harvest rice crops is often a difficult process because the grains of rice are relatively soft. For wet cultivated fields, the field must be released before the harvest start. Rice can be harvested by hand but often done by machine in larger fields using specialized equipment that can separate the stemwithout damaging rice. The yield of the harvest may vary throughout the year; For wet rice, yields are often the best during rainy periods of the year.

After harvesting, rice crop must be processed for human use. Most rice passes through the initial process of milling, in which the peel is removed from the grain. Rice without peel is known as brown rice because it retains a layer of tanned bran. Brown rice can be re -milled, remove bran and leave only a central grain of colored milk known as white rice. Both brown and white rice can go through further processing and create syrup, oil or powder.

The use of rice crop is almost endless. As food, white or brown rice can be sold as it is, converted into cereal or processed into rice flour or rice syrup. Rice can be processed into starch powder, which can be used in cosmetics as a stabilizing agent. Even discarded rice grain peel and some paper and I can also be used to create biofuelszolovation materials.
