What are the different types of panic disorder therapy?

The two main types of panic disorder therapy are cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and rational emotional behavioral therapy (rebT). Rebt is generally considered to be the first effective method formed for the treatment of panic disorders. CBT has evolved from Rebt, but applies one different part of the Rebt as the whole therapy framework. The main difference between them is that the Rebt occupies an approach that the patient needs to understand what has led to a disorder, while the CBT almost focuses on learning new types of behavior. He developed a rebt from his belief that personality disorders were no type of clinical madness and could be cured by a modification of behavior. Until then, there were many patients who suffered panic and personality disorders, treated with psychoanalysis as a therapy of panic disorder. Psychoanalysis is a type of therapy that usually seeks to find a basic neurosis that can cause behavior. Ellis believed that psychoanalysis is not far enough that the patient not only had to understand his behavior but also neededunder the supervision of "coaching" to overcome behavior.

Most patients who underwent a rebT are first encouraged to discover the cause or trigger their panic. Once the cause is set, psychologists generally try to help them find out why this trigger leads to panic. The different phases of panic are evaluated to help the patient understand why mere discomfort often escalates into a fully blown panic. In addition, Rebt uses CBT elements, such as gradual exposure to situations that can panic to find ways to change their behavior and deal with the situation.

When used as a therapy of panic disorder, CBT is not the focus of deep -rooted psychological problems as Rebb. CBT usually focuses on accepting that the patient is concerned without focusing on why concerns are present. This therapy sometimes works faster than rebT, although some pSychologists do not believe it is far enough to try to cure the patient. In fact, CBT does not necessarily have to cure fear, just adapt the pattern of behavior that allows the patient to cope with panic. In general, CBT includes limited exposure to situations that cause panic and gradually escalate exposure until the patient can experience the situation without panic.

Sometimes patients may need medication while being involved in panic disorder therapy. In some cases, medicines can become a permanent part of their treatment. Drugs are usually considered the last option and are usually given only when panic is so serious that it has become dangerously weakening.
