What is lorcaserin?
lorcserin hydrochloride is a drug designed for weight loss and weight control in obese patients. Diet pill is an agonist and anorectic receptor serotonin 2C (5-HT2C). In 2009, Arena submitted a Pharmaceuticals application for Lorcaserin Hydrochloride in American food and drug administration (FDA). In October 2010, the FDA rejected Lorcaserin in its form at that time and quoted concerns about the efficiency and links to cancer tumors in laboratory rats. The proposed trademark name was then Lorqess®. As agonist serotonin 2c, lorcaserin activates these receptors and produces chemicals that suppress hunger.
