What is neuromuscular therapy?

neuromuscular therapy is a form of massage used to treat and prevent tissue damage and chronic pain. These massage techniques manipulate muscles, tendons and connective tissues to heal and balance the central nervous system. Injuries and various traumas can cause pain and disrupt nervous transmitters; Neuromuscular therapy works on stabilizing neurological activities and repairing the function of soft tissues. Neuromuscular therapy has become a common method of treating sports injuries and pain, and as the method grew in popularity, it began to appear in the United States. Finally, a detailed system called The Five Point Technique Dr. Janet Travell, M.D. and Dr. David Simmons, M.D. The method has created a detailed approach to neuromuscular therapy by causing physical pain. Breakhesis with neuromuscular massage began to broadly influence the therapeutic communities and the five -point technique has become a modern version of neuromuscular therapy.

the first element identified as a sourcePain is ischemia. Ischemia refers to a lack of blood flow to soft tissues, resulting in hypersensitivity to the touch. Those suffering from ischemia can occur frequent bruises, temperature sensitivity and a consistent basic feeling of pain in the skin and bones.

The second element solves trigger points: highly irritated muscles that lead to pain in other areas in the body. This often develops as a tight, node area in a muscle that adds voltage to the rest of the muscle. Hard, tense places in the muscles tend to require intense, concentrated pressure applied directly to a hard place on the muscle and can take several sessions to relax.

The third element of pain deals with nerve compression or capture. Nerve pressing occurs when soft tissue or cartilage exerts pressure on the nerve. This may occur as a result of disk degeneration or bone loss caused by osteoporosis.

pOstural distortion is the fourth source of pain and is caused by harsh or appalling body movements. The muscle system often becomes unbalanced because the body moves unnaturally from horizontal and longitudinal planes. Car accidents tend to be the most common cause of postural distortion.

The fifth element is the result of biomechanical dysfunction. Biomechanical dysfunction occurs as a result of defective movement habits such as writing or ergonomically incorrect golf swing. These repeated movements may eventually cause imbalance in the musculoskeletal system.

Five physiological factors that may cause pain are solved by implementing a recovery program that uses specific massage therapy, creates flexibility and balances the nervous system. Neuromuscular therapy uses a massage to focus on detailed areas that can cause pain. The techniques used in this type of therapy focus in detail on massage tendons, ligaments and connective tissues. Thumb and fingersare often used to release tight muscle fibers or hidden areas that are often not unnoticed by other forms of massage.
