What is somatic is experiencing?
Somatic Experiences® is a type of traumatic therapy. The practitioner® believes that there is a clear physiological connection between trauma experience and long -term trauma effects. This type of therapy was introduced in 1997 by Dr. Peter Levine. Dr. Levine founded his concept of Somatic Exciration and on his studies of wild animal populations. According to Dr. Levine activates the physical or emotional trauma of an autonomic nervous system, an ancient physiological reaction that is part of the instinct for yourselfconsciousness. In humans, however, the autonomous nervous system can return to a natural or neutral state, causing people to live in a constant state of physical tension due to stress and trauma. The Somatic Experiences® is designed to alleviate this physical tension so that patients can overcome trauma.
TheSession of Somatic Excising® can be performed by a psychotherapist or bodywork that has undergone a three -year educational program needed for experts and which kept a step with the requirements for further education. Sitting is performed on an individual basis, similar to psychotherapy, except that instead of talking by trauma, patient and therapist, they cooperate to increase the patient's physical awareness.
