What are molecular foods?
Molecular foods are generally understood as any type of natural food that has been grown from seeds that have undergone the process of deliberate molecular engineering. The seeds often change so that the resulting plant will be less susceptible to a number of factors that could damage the crop. Molecular foods can also be changed to increase the taste of the product, or simply as a means to ensure a healthy crop with a high yield.
Most of the procedures used to change food has to do with harder. Constructed foods will be more resistant to unfavorable weather conditions such as drought or excessive amount of sun exposure. Molecular foods can also be able to withstand mold, fungi and other plant diseases that can cause crop failure. There are even examples of changed food that are designed specifically to withstand infestation with a wide range of insects.

Improved taste and smell are often desirable for use with frozen or canned vegetables, because after the cooking process they tend to maintain more taste. Molecular foods can also be created to keep more colors during cooking. If this is the case, the presentation of the bowl will not only be tasty, but also attracts the eye.
In some neighborhoods, the term molecular food is used to indicate the method of food preparation rather than for the food itself. For example, if an alternative is used for traditional cooking methods, such as the use of fusion cooking, the resulting dishes can be understood as molecular food. However, most culinary experts tend to consider molecular foods as genetically changed foods rather than food that is prepared in an unusual way.
