What are quiche cakes?

Quiche is like an omelet, which is preparing as a cake, except that it does not get the top layer of dough before baking. Some cultures refer to these spicy cakes full of size like quiche cakes, but the moniker could also refer to Quiche, which became the size of the hockey puck. Quiche cakes differ very differently depending on the recipe, but often include ingredients such as mixed eggs or pudding, cheese, bacon and onions that are baked on standard pastries. However, this is just a basic formula. Chefs can use spinach, tomatoes and any number of spices or other vegetables to make what looks like a cake feels like food.

common to all quiche cakes full size of small-is pastries. Most chefs stick to the basic dough recipe with flour, oil or butter, salt and water. Others also add some dry yeasts for a more decent feeling. One recipe strongly mixes 4 cups (about 525 g) flour with almost 1.5 cup (about 355 ml) water, 2 tablespoons. (about 30ml) oils, 0.5 teaspoon. (about 2.5 g) salt and 1,25 teaspoon. (about 6 g) dry yeast. If the butter is replaced by oil, 6 tablespoons. (About 85 g) Butter should be mixed into the dough instead.

The dough can then be introduced to the counter, which is dusted with flour and cut into circles that fit into small bread cans. Another option is to turn the dough until it is round enough to cover the entire bottom of the standard, 9 -inch (about 23 cm) pelvis. The edges can then be grouped stronger or cropped and decorated with a fork.

The traditional recipe for quiche cakes around which all others are built is called Quiche Lorraine. The full size cake will need about four whipped creams, along with some cream, fragile bacon, salt, pepper, nutmeg and Swiss or Gruyere cheese. All this is fully beaten and poured over the cake, which is waiting in the pasties of the can. At 375 ° F (aSI 190 ° C) will take about half an hour of full -size cooking all the time, but slightly less for small cans.

Many chefs are not soothed by this basic mixture. Other common additions to Quiche cakes are blanched spinach, steamed tomatoes, various types of cheeses such as feta or cheddar, and more vegetables such as onions or artichokes. For cordial food, some even add pieces of potatoes or replace another type of meat for bacon, such as prosciutto or ham.
