What is a fish screed?
Fish screed is a classic American tradition in which social interaction is often as important as the food itself. As in nature as a Potluck dinner gathering, fish screed usually provides participants with the opportunity to bring their own food from home and share them with others in the neighborhood. Food could consist of battered or niche and fried fish, Husshpuppies, fries and cabbage salads served with tartar or marinara sauce for soaking and slices of lemon or malt vinegar on the side. Home desserts often follow the main course and beer is a drink. Lack of cooling and warm southern temperatures meant that the fish had to be consumed quickly than they spoiled. If the family grabbed more than they could eat, family members would invite their friends and Havečírek. The cryst of fish has become a social event, which usually took place on Saturday evening or on Sunday afternoon, a tradition that continues to this day.
along the Mississippi River in Louisiana and Mississippi Delta, the fish screed provided for field workers the opportunity to mix with their neighbors and relax after a long week of hard work. Farmers would eat cordially, drink and dance their worries with music played by local blues musicians or Jukebox. Fish fries were usually held in private homes, or in a nearby "Juke joint", on a place that provided food, alcohol and entertainment.
Fish fries are also a popular weekend tradition in the Midwest and in the northern United States. In the Catholic communities of the Church, they often hold French fries on Friday, when practicing Catholics must refrain from consuming the production of Masats. In Wisconsin, the fish screed has a year -round Friday night tradition for people of all religious persuasion. Local restaurants, taverns and civil clubs in the state host "everything you can eat", fries that are so popular with the locals are not popularykle for serving lines that bother around the block.
In the northern US and Canada, fries are sometimes referred to as coastal lunches, but this concept is basically the same. The only remarkable difference between the two is that coastal lunches are usually served outside during warmer months, while the fish screed is held in winter. New Yorker people tend to prefer local battered or coated cod and cod. Many restaurants in New York, New York, offer fish screed not only on Friday evening, but every night of the week.
