What is Girolle®?

Girolle® is a device that is used with a small or medium -sized bike to create portions of cheese, which consist of thin slices that are slightly rolled into shapes reminiscent of rosettes or flowers. The device was first produced in Switzerland and is primarily intended for use with the cheese tête de Moine from the Jura area in Switzerland. When used properly, Girolle® is basically scraped along the upper cheese wheel and creates fine cheese rosettes that create a relatively stunning way of serving the cheese. This launch of cheese, rather than slicing, allows the higher surface area to be exposed to air and changes the texture of the cheese in a unique way. After several design attempts, he has settled on a modern design that allows you to use rosettes, but is not as clumsy or untouched as some of his previous designs. Although there are several different models, the basic Girolle® consists of a wooden base and a metal rod that attaches to the center of the base.

On the base you can place a small wheel of cheese and the metal rod is pushed down through the cheese into the base and attachs the space. The metal rod has an attachment that consists of a specially designed wheel with a round handle. The user then holds the handle and moves the blade around the cheese surface with a single circular movement, shaes a relatively thin layer of cheese and converts it into grooved roses. Other Girolle® models can be made using plastic rather than metals and may also include a cover for easy storage of cheese or a more compact design for kitchens with smaller storage space.

traditionally Girolle & Reg;; It has been designed for use with tête de mine cheese. tête de Moine has been produced for hundreds of years and is a semi-hard cheese made of raw cow's milk. The cheese has a smooth, creamy texture and tends to melt on the tongue when consuming. Because the cheese uses raw milk rather than pasteurized milk, keepsSi unique taste and smell. It is also protected by withdrawal of D'Entrôlée from the European Union and can only be produced in Jura in Switzerland.
