What is a spicy pear?

A spicy pear is a pear that was cooked in a mixture that consists of syrup or honey, white or brown sugar and a collection of spices and flavors such as cinnamon, nutmeg, coin, clove or even wine. The pear is cooked in this mixture until it is fine enough to be pierced by the fork and tastes are soaked with the body of the fruit. A spicy pear can be made either with fresh or canned pears and is popular as a dessert, side dish or recipe.

Although a spicy pear can be consumed itself as a dessert, it can also be used in many other dessert recipes. Many cakes, bread puddings and fruit puddings use spicy pears as a central ingredient. Spicy pear can be used as ice cream or French toast. Spicy pears are also commonly used as a sweet side dish for various meat and saucepan.

For the production of spicy pears can be used a number of ingredients, but four basic ingredients used most often are pears, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Memo pears can be preserved, which can be a good solution for people who find themselves with fresher pears than they can use. After peeling and possible cutting, fresh pears can be soaked in a mixture of water and lemon juice to prevent browning. After cooking, the pears can be added to the glasses, along with some syrup mixture in which they were cooked. With the correct prepared, preserved spicy pears, they can take several months.
