What is chicken rubber?
Chicken Gumbo is a food that includes the use of white and dark chicken along with a selection of vegetables and spices. While the origin of the Gumbo is usually monitored to the Southern Delta region of the United States during the 18th and 19th centuries, there is no agreement on when the chicken was first introduced into the basic recipe. It is documented that food is the origin of the New World and represents a marriage between culinary practices of indigenous Americans, French and Spanish settlers in the region, African slaves transported to the area and even some innovations later Italian and German immigrants.
The basic ingredients of the chicken rubber require the use of white and dark meat harvested from chicken, along with potatoes of the ocher, onion, carrots and celery. Spices such as garlic, thyme, bay leaves, black pepper, jalapeno and cayenne pepper are used to combine different flavors. Modern recipes may require the use of a small amount of oil along with flour like PDirection, adding chicken broth and finally cooked chicken, vegetables and spices. For some recipes, the edges are cooked separately from other ingredients and then adds to the mixture for a short cooking time before the rubber is considered complete.
Although canned or frozen chicken rubber can be purchased, the relative simplicity of most recipes makes it easier to prepare food by ingredients easily obtained from the local market. This allows you to enjoy freshly prepared chicken rubber even at a time when one or more ingredients are not in the season. The food also freezes well, making it easier to prepare food during the summer or early autumn, freeze the rubber in several containers and enjoy food during the winter months.
