What is Creme de Cassis?

Creme de Cassis is a French liqueur Blackcurrant. Cassis is the French name for berries known as Blackcurrants. Creme de Cassis originated in France of the 16th century, where black currants were used as a snake medicine. The fruit of blackcurrant gives this liqueur red and a sweet taste. It can be administered through ice cream or angel food cake. Fresh berries, such as strawberries, blackberries or blueberries, create an ideal accompaniment to the fruit liqueur because they are also flavored berries.

Kir is one of the most famous beverages made of Creme de Cassis. It is named after Dijon, the French mayor of 1945, Canon Felix Kir. Cassis liqueur is combined with white wine and created a drink. Kir should be served in a glass of red wine. Some versions of Kir use champagne, Burgundy or sparkling wines instead of white wine.

Another drrecept on the ink containing creme de cassis is a tequila sunrise. The "sunrise" is served in a tall ice glass with tequiLou, club soda and lime juice in addition to Blackcurrant liqueur. In addition to Cassis liqueur, tequila sunrise usually contains another fruit liqueur called orange curacao.

One drink made of Cassis liqueur is named after timely use of black fish like a snake cure. The "Snake Bite" drink contains creme de cassis, liquor liqueur, lager and apple cider. This drink can be mixed or layered.

Pousse-cafes are layered drinks that are carefully created so that the color layers can be viewed through clear columns. To keep the liquid layers separate in the belts, such as yellow, green and red, heavier liqueurs are poured into the bottom and lighter stored on the top of the drink. Creme de Cassis oftn follows brandy as another hardest liqueur in pilgrimage coffee.

Pousse-cafe means "coffee pursuer" when translated from its French meaning. Creme de Cassis Je Digestive or Digestif . It is served after a meal with coffee and dessert because it is considered good for the digestive system. In France, the Cassis liqueur is also consumed before eating as Aperitivif , which is served before eating.
