What is Crespelle?

Many Italian recipes require prepared pasta, but there is an alternative that many chefs use whenever fresh pasta is not easily available or not suitable for food. Italian pancakes called crespelle can be prepared for a standard crepe pan and instead of pasta noodles in popular dishes such as lasagna and manicotti. In fact, they are also known as manicotti pancakes in some circles of cooking. A typical dough recipe requires eggs, college flour, water, milk and salt. The ingredients are mixed together until the dough is the consistency of a heavy cream or thinner. It is loaded into an oiled or butter crepe pan or other non -stick pan and is cooked until very easy to roast. This technique may require some practice until consistent results are possible.

Ideally, they should be as thin and light as other types of panels, not heavy or strong as traditional pancakes. A small amount of thin dough should be circled around the pelvis and the crepe turned quickly as it starts to tow and solidify.

Many people prefer the lighter CRESPELLE structure in Traditional Italian meals, especially in recipes for vegetarians or those on carb-rusting diet.
