What is Donburi?
Donburi is a Japanese word for a big bowl. Sometimes spelled "Domburi", the word also refers to the type of Japanese food, which consists of a large bowl of simple white rice with one or more watering. Donburi has many interpretations for such simple food. Bays can be made of any kind of meat, seafood or vegetables that can be prepared in different ways and sometimes include sauce. However, there are specific types of Donburi meals, which are named after fondes.
The word Donburi is shortened on the "-don" extension for the names of these specific meals. One of the most common examples is Gyudon, which means "beef bowl".
