What is Egg Foo Yung?
EGG Foo Yung, also spell-in eggs Fuyung, is a Chinese-American meal based on a classic bowl called Fu Yung Slikes. In some ways, this is one of the first omelettes, invented long before the French created this term. Fu Yung translates as a lotus flower and the original meal in general combined egg whites with ground ham or chicken and was either a pan or fried. The name of the first inventor is now lost, but food could be developed in any restaurant specializing in canton cuisine. Simply put, modern food uses whole eggs in most cases, producing an omelet or egg pancakes to which a small amount of meat and vegetables are added.
The proposal among culinary historians is that initially this food was fried. This is not unusual today and the frying pan as well as the chef would be more common. The basic shape may not be perfect either; Egg Foo Yung can be somewhat crumpled, folded in squares or almostreminiscent of scrambled eggs. A brown sauce or sauce with soy sauce are added, giving the bowl a remarkable "Chinese" taste. Furthermore, it almost always includes a chopped green onion, either integrated into eggs or as a decoration above.
Common additions include strips of pork, beef, chicken, shrimp or adventure floor, dining worms. Unlike the American omelet, however, eggs should not be full of ingredients. Increments are usually only there to provide a taste without fearing food and cause more about what to add than eggs. The simplest sauce can be only soy or tempura sauce with a little leek. More often, the Chinese brown graviets, as well as those accompanied by foods such as beef broccoli.Some versions of the bowl would be almost impossible to recognize. For example, the sandwich of St. Pavla is a fried sandwich with an egg foo yung,Served on white bread with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and mayonnaise. This variant of classic food can be found in St. Louis in Missouri, where the invention of the sandwich is credited to creative Chinese American chefs. In the rest of the US, guests will be more likely to find eggs in Chinese restaurants, but the recipe is so simple, it is definitely worth trying at home, especially because it is preparing quickly.
