What is a parofa?

Toilet mixture of MANIOC flour used in traditional Brazilian cuisine is known as a parofa. The bowl varies in consistency and components according to the region. Farofa is commonly consumed in South America and Western Africa.

Although it is traditionally prepared with a mixture of flour, Farofa has different variations. Sometimes the mixture is mixed with corn flour. Due to these variations, the taste and texture may also differ. The mixture is also known as Farinha de Mandioca, it is sometimes made of gourmet food with the addition of nuts, bacon, bananas, olives or anything else the cook prefers.

Manioc is known for many in the Western world as Yuca. When the powder is in this flour combination, it is usually given as a side dish. The texture of these Brazilian dishes can range from the course to very fine. Some compare it with a robust consistency of couscous, while others can be as powder and finely cut as table salt.
