What is Bierock?
BIEROCK is a type of spicy bread baked by stuffing the ground or crushed meat, onion and crushed cabbage. It is a traditional meal from Eastern Europe and German immigrants brought to the United States to the United States. The most common in the countries of the central plains Kansas and Nebraska, but can be found in other areas where German and Russian immigrants from the Volga River, such as Argentina, settled. Like many traditional foods, the exact origin of Bierock is unknown and there are many alternative spelling and recipe variations. The first is the filling that is ground or crushed meat, boiled onions and cabbage. Meat is most often ground beef, but sometimes minced pork or combination of both is used. Some recipes may require cooked, crushed meat like the remaining baking. The other two main ingredients are shredded cabbage and onions, which are cooked, absorbing some fats during cooking. Some recipes also require shredded carrots or other rootVou vegetables such as turnouts.
Many people who eat Bierocks believe that the content tends to be rather bland, and therefore some chefs are changing the recipe to add additional spices. Salt and pepper, cumin, spicy herbs, garlic and soy sauce are for this reason for common accessories for bierock recipes, although other spices can be used. The filling is fully cooked and assembled in advance and is left to cool before filling Bierocks.
The second main ingredient is the dough, which, unlike the dough used for similar foods such as pastins and pierogies, is not a type of type or pasta -like shell, but yeast bread. Many variations are possible and bierock can be shaped in almost any way the cook desires. Some traditional shapes are round as a burger bun, extended as a small bread loaf and semicircles or crescent.
dough can be traditional white yeastBread, but it is the most often rich egg dough, such as the one used for sweet dinners. This type of dough is not as sweet as cinnamon or dessert pastry, but it is only slightly sweet and is often produced with a generous amount of butter and eggs.
creation of bierock involves introducing a small piece of once disappeared dough into a circle, square or rectangular shape, bay by filling and pulling the edges up and griping them together. To make Bierocks together during cooking, they are placed with seams for baking on a baking tray. Most recipes require that Bierocks to fit a little so that the dough can rise somewhat after baking. They are also often brushed with an egg or molten butter.
