What is Fideo?

Fideo is a traditional noodle bowl that many believe in Mexico. Today, this meal is popular in homes and restaurants throughout Mexico and the southwestern United States (USA) and is the basis of Mexican and Tex-Mex dining facilities around the world. It can be prepared in many ways, with specific flavors and accessories unique to different regions. Fideo can serve as a soup, side dish or main course, depending on how it is ready and what types of foods are added to the noodle base. In addition to their authentic taste, many people enjoy this food because it is easy to make and very affordable, with a lot of options for people of all tastes.

All Fideo meals begin with pasta made of thin noodles. Depending on the region, recipes may require vermicelli, angelic hair pasta or even spaghetti.
