What is energy?

Food is plant and animal tissue and microbial cells consumed by organisms. These organic structures are divided into digestible molecules that have chemical energy in their binding. Food energy refers to the potential source of cellular energy available in chemical bindings of food.

All living things consume energy in the process of growth and reproduction. The source of all energy available for life on Earth is the Sun, a thermonuclear reactor that turns safely in space. During the process of photosynthesis, the plants transform light energy into chemical energy and use part of this energy for their own cellular needs. Other life forms, including humans, consume plants to produce complex biological systems and provide other sources of chemical energy in their body tissues to other organisms. The hierarchy between these different organisms is called a food chain or food web.

Energy content of food can be calculated using a burmakud will not be completed, consumes. The combustion reaction products will be carbon dioxide, ashes, water and heat. The heat issued is captured and measured by performing the reaction in the radiator, such as a waterproof combustion vessel called calorimeters. This heat is available in the food and is the basis of a commonly used calorie. Note that the calories used in the food brand is measured equivalent to 1,000 calories (1 kcal or 4.182 kilojoules) energy.

In the digestive system, food is converted into chemicals that can be absorbed into cells directly or indirectly from a circulating delivery system such as blood. People are able to obtain carbohydrates, short lipids and proteins as a source of nutrition. Other factors that help in building tissues are not absorbed for their energy content, but as reaction catalysts, co-factors or compounds that the body cannot produce like essentialamino acids.

In the cell, the carbon content in the food molecules is oxidized to carbon dioxide or other oxygen -containing molecules. The release of energy from conversion is captured by the chain of electron transmission molecules, including adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Molecules allow reactions that build structures thermodynamically possible reduction in activation energies.

food energy is a source of energy for the current use and basis of tissue building. Some energy energy exceeds the needs of the body and is stored in different molecules for later use. The process of transforming food energy into contemporary cellular activity or cell growth is called metabolism. Different organisms even the same species perform this task on a macro level with different efficiency. When Dieters say they are watching their calories, they mean they are trying to control their food intake to add additional storage capacity for excess energy storage molecules.
