What is Greek tense yogurt?

Authentic Greek tense yogurt is a type of yogurt made of sheep milk in Greece and depleted from the liquid whey until the final product has been said. However, different types of commercial labeling and marketing have expanded the importance of the Greek tense yogurt to include almost any yogurt that was tense, regardless of its origin. The resulting tense yogurt has a much creamy texture than traditional and can be used in warm foods without the risk of separation from heat. Greek tense yogurt can be used in cold desserts or as a replacement for other strong dairy components such as sour cream. The liquid tense from yoghurt called whey can also be used in the cooking and production of cheese and can be administered as a nutritious drink. Specifically, tense yogurt contains a much higher concentration of protein and fat and a slightly lower amount of carbohydrates, lactose and sugar. With the removal of whey, yogurt also tends to contain slightly less nutrients than it would be if the whey was still present.
