What is Green Curry?
A mixture of spices and aromatic substances, curry is the name for spices so popular in Asian cooking. Most people are familiar with yellow curry in India, edible with cumin and curcum. Thai cuisine, however, also contains curry and one of the most popular species is green curry. The basic recipe includes green chily, onion, coriander, lime juice and bark, lemon grass, garlic, soy sauce, cumin and ginger. It is usually sold as a paste in stores. The cook "fry" the paste to release the aromatic substances and mix it with coconut milk, chicken broth or other liquids to form a curry entrée. While Thai curry also includes cumin, caraway flavor is far from as dominant in this dish. Green Curry has a sweeter and more complicated taste. With the addition of lime and lemon grass, TZDE is also citrus undertones. Keffir and basil leaves are often added to the bowl just before serving to maximize their aroma.
A bowl made of this spice may include various ingredients, including rice, noodles, meat and vegetables. Ordinary Thai meals are green curry noodles with some kind of meat or chicken. It can be mild or hot, depending on the amount of hot peppers it contains, and according to the preference of the chef. It's usually one of the milder curry in Thai cuisine.
Thai green curry paste is located in most supermarkets with an Asian food of food in small glasses. It should be kept chilled. However, creating a green curry mixture from scratch is likely to require a trip to the local Asian market with items such as Keffir and Lemon Grass.
