What is Kirschenmichel?

kirschenmichel is a type of German bread that uses daily bread. Simple ingredients including eggs, sugar and milk are used to create a texture similar to sofle when the pudding is baked in the oven. Adding cherries either inside the dough or at the top of the bowl makes unique, as well as spices such as cardamom and cloves. Some recipes put almonds or hazelnuts into the pudding of almonds, while variations may include cocoa powder, vanilla icing, lemon zest or sprinkling the flavored liqueur when the bowl is cooked. The finished pudding can be eaten as a main course or as a dessert served with ice cream, whipped cream or cream.

The first step in the production of Kirschenmichel is the preparation of bread. The recipe requires dry bread, so the loaf, which is several days old, is good. Alternatively, fresh bread can be dried in the oven and used. This is because too much moisture in bread could destroy the consistency of Kirschenmichel and left it with a muscles similar to a mixture.

The eggs are separated and the egg yolks are mixed with more eggs, butter and sugar until they are smooth. At this point you can add additional spices - such as cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, vanilla or lemon peel. Bread and cherries bread and cakes are combined with a mixture of egg yolk and stir until each piece is covered and the cherries are evenly distracted. Some recipes allow the mixture to sit for the time to allow the bread to fully absorb part of the liquid.

Whites eggs are whipped with a pinch of salt until they create peaks. The mixture of a solid egg white mixture is then folded into the main dough of Kirschenmichel. Folding involves fine integration of white so that they do not lose the air they contain and collapse, so the key is somewhat fine movements with spatula. Adding egg whites ensures that Kirschenmichel will have some height and volume after baking.

The whole mixture is located in a large rameriin, saucepan or other bakery bowlSafe in the oven. If the cherries have not been added with the bread earlier, they can be poured or placed on the top of the uncooked dough. Some small pieces of butter can be laid on top to help promote browning. The mixture is placed in the oven and is left to cook until the upper part of the Kirschenmichel has not brown.

completed Kirschenmichel can be served hot, cold or at room temperature. With sweet side dishes such as ice cream or sweetened whipped cream goes well. Strong sauces of vanilla creams or frosts can be driven over the top, or it can be decorated with chocolate powder or shavings of chocolate.
