What is Kugel?

Kugel is a famous Jewish food, made mainly by Ashkenazi Jews in Eastern Europe. There is evidence that food was made more than 800 years ago, although it was gradually modified and improved over time. Many of them are used to thinking about Kugel as a dessert and you will find a lot of dessert styles of Kugel. It can also be made as salty attachments or entrée. Soon Kugel, as at that time many foods, was basically a roast pudding that had some similarity to spicy bread. The German Jews in 1200s began to add noodles, eggs, cheese and/or milk to the bowl and created a delicious creamy casserole. The Kugel base can use potatoes or matz flour instead of noodles.
