What is the Lychee liqueur?
Lychee Liqueur is a sweet, strong alcoholic beverage made of Lychee walnut, fruit originally from Asia. The taste of the liqueur varies according to the brand, but many manufacturers mixed the natural flavor of Lychee with additional fruit juices or floral essences. While the liqueur can be technically served separately, most individuals use it as a mixer for cocktails. Lychee fruit is very fragrant and has a sweet taste comparable to the taste of grapes, but with floral undertones. The outer skin is red and bumpy, but the inner meat is translucent white, solid and juicy. Lychee trees came from southern Chinese provinces in Kwangtung and Fukien, where they grew near water formations. At present, Lychee trees are grown throughout Southeast Asia and in several not Asian countries, as well, especially for consistently damp areas without frost.
TRUE LYCHEE LIQUEUR relies on natural Lychee juice or essence to create a basic taste,But some manufacturers can add additional tastes to further improve the taste of alcohol. Guava and Peach are among the most common fruit accessories, while some brands prefer to add citrus flowers to emphasize the aroma and refreshing acidity of the Lychee fruit. Since Lychee's fruit originally came and is still associated with southeast Asia, they have any additions from the liqueur to evoke an asian taste and can therefore be unknown to Western palaties. Most Lychee liqueur is clear, but some manufacturers instead produce light pink liqueur.
rather than drinking this liqueur straight, most individuals prefer to use it as a blender. There are several named drinks that specifically call this liqueur. The crouching tiger is a shooter made of the same parts of Lychee liqueur and blue Agave Tequila. Lichitini or Lycheetini, Martini with Asian twist, are produced with vodka, Lychee liqueur, lime juice and thrown Lychee. In the Red Lotus cocktail is the liqueur paired with the vodka andcranberry juice.
Some cocktails may require Lychee juice or pulp, but in many cases the liqueur can be used as a replacement. For example, Amurula and Eva are a creamy cocktail traditionally made of amarula cream, citrus vodka, Lychee juice and ruby red grapefruit juices. The liqueur is a suitable replacement of juice, but may result in a sweeter tasting drink. This cocktail is often decorated with the placement of fresh Lychee fruit on the edge of the glass if available.
