What is Matoke?
also called Matoooke , Matoke is the name of the plantains, the type of green banana, in certain areas of East Africa, namely Uganda. Matoke in East Africa are a basic crop and also basic meal. The term also refers to food made from these plantans. In fact, goulash food is a national dish of Uganda.
Although fruit itself has the same yellow -yellow color as a banana, the crust can be green or even black. Unlike bananas, bananas should be cooked before consuming. In Africa, fruit is often steamed in its own leaves and can also be included in various meals, similar to potatoes in European and American countries. Plantains can be found in a part of food production in many countries. Hot red peppers may also be included. Onions, garlic and sometimes fresh ginger root and mustaches are also used RD seed.

If meat and broth are used, they are added after a combination of spices. The mixture is then boiled and left to cook. Once the heat is reduced, bananas are included. Matoke that uses meat requires longer cooking time than those that don't. This is to ensure that the meat is thoroughly cooked.
versions that use mustard and cumin seeds place the seeds in the oil at the beginning of the cooking process. The seeds can leavebefore other ingredients are included. Peanuts should be baked and ground before using them in matoke . They are added at the end of the cooking process after bananas.
If beef is not used, the water is added after the inclusion of peanuts. The mixture allows you to cook a few minutes before completion. Upon completion, matoke is often decorated with sliced coriander.
