What is mobbing?
Mobbing is a term used to describe a pattern of behavior characterized by a heavy mental, verbal and psychological abuse committed by one person on the other in the working environment. The person who performs abuse usually acquires the help of others to do so, and even a small group of collaborators can "group" together against another employee to commit this type of abuse. Although abuse is generally not physical and often consists of verbal abuse and harassment, the results may be devastating for individuals suffering from abuse. It has been seen that mobbing results in a psychological trauma equivalent to post -traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) found in those who were prisoners of war. While basic behavior can be considered as "picking up" one person the other, the person who has committed abuse, often turns others against the victim. This Leads in the Mobbing script in which one person is the goal of permanent abuse by the other in the workplace, and this can lead a manager, cooperatesheeps or even subordinate victims. Such behavior was first recognized and labeled by a Swedish scientist named Heinz Leymann, who studied this type of abusive behavior in the workplace and schools.
used the term "mobbing" as a reference to the behavior of animals in which the animal group will cooperate on attacking another animal. Its finding has led to a number of cases where he identified such behavior in the working environment and subsequently cooperated with the victims of such attacks. In many of these cases, he found that the victim had suffered real and permanent psychological trauma for abuse. These victims often showed similar symptoms to individuals with PTSD and when they were adequately treated, they were eventually able to reopen from the trauma.
after Dr. Leymann has become more well -known and understanding the behavior and consequences of mobbing, especially throughout Europe. In North America, however, mobbing is less commonly recognized and such a CHurning can be more easily rejected as minor complaints. However, the consequences of mobbing are not culturally dependent, so individuals in the US or Canada are equally likely that they suffer from a serious psychological trauma before such abuse. However, efforts to expand their knowledge and understanding of this type of abuse in North America have been made, so workers and managers may be more aware of the symptoms and consequences of such harmful behavior.
