What is Pinot Noir?
Pinot Noir is often considered one of the noblest grapes, at the top of the pantheon shared Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Merlot. It is the main grape in the big wines of Burgundy, Velvet and Slender, full of nuances, which at best are rarely harmonized by other grapes. Unlike the more stable Cabernet Sauvignon, however, Pinot Noir is notorious, so while Bordeaux has a well earned reputation for the production of consistent wines that can be reasonably expected to offer the same level of quality year after year, the wild card is in each bottle. It seems to be too sensitive to virtually every aspect of the winery, from pruning, to the composition of the soil to the amount of sun that it receives daily. The grape was called the whisk of the winemaker and the "minx vine". With all this, however, Pinot Noir is one of the most popular varieties of grapes in the world. This should not be any surprise, even with his countless problems when it all combines and works, the wines that produce are in their depthE and almost magical character.
Pinot Noir is sweeter than his cousin Cabernet Sauvignon, holds much less tannin and smells scents gently perfume. The wine has relatively light colors due to thinner skin of grapes. He will age well for some time, but good wine can also enjoy young. In its younger stages it contains pinot noir juicy, decadent fruit, especially berries. As it ages, it tastes more vegetation, even if the fruit remains throughout.
Many Pinot Noir clones have achieved a relatively high level of success in itself. Pinot Meunier used in Champagne is a harder clone of grapes and both Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc are other popular clones. In addition to being used in Burgundy and many individual varietal wines, it is also the predominant grape in most sparkling wines. In champagne he is mixed with Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay and in other regions it can be mixed with Chardonnay and others DRster grapes.
In the United States, Pinot Noir is very popular as one variety wine. While California produced many exceptional wines made of this grapes, especially in the coastal range of northern California -cooled fog, it is in Oregon that Grape came alone. Many Noir Oregon Pinot is considered to be the probable candidates for the sale of Burgundy its crown.
