What is salsa?

Almost every world cuisine has its own version of enjoyment. Indian food has a chutney. Western meals lean toward chow-chow or cucumber. In Spanish and Mexican cuisine, Salsa is king. Real, homemade salsa carries a small similarity to a fabric found on food shelves. The word means "sauce" in Spanish and usually is a spice of tomatoes, onion, garlic, coriander, salts and hot peppers with a touch of vinegar or lemon juice for acidity. Sometimes the mixture is cooked or tomatoes blancher, but is also often served without added heat.

As with most of these spices, salsa has many purposes. In earlier days, it was a good way to preserve tomatoes in a tasty way. It also retained their nutrition value. Salsa also added spices and appetite. In modern times, it is generally used to flavor food or as immersion for tortilla chips. However, it can be combined with cheese immersion to refresh or taste the spice of Mexican food.

Salsa is usually made of tomato base, but can also be made with other vegetables or fruit. Mango Salsa is a recently popular complement to the repertoire. It uses essentially the same ingredients, but replaces cubic mango for tomatoes. Peach Salsa is also an interesting variation on the bowl, as well as recipes on tomatoes that have added black beans and corn to the mixture. The common denominator is that he has everything hot peppers. Of course, the chef determines the amount of heat and can move from moderate to volcanic.

Every Mexican restaurant has its own version of Salsy. Bake some tomatoes before adding. Some restaurants repose their onions or use other types of hot peppers such as bananas peppers rather than traditional jalapeno. Some restaurants prefer to serve "robust" salt, while others prefer smoother mixtures.

One of the best attributes of Salsyis its nutritional value. He has vitamin C and all good things associated with tomatoes. In addition, it has a low content of carbohydrates, fat and cholesterol. On average, portions have about 15 calories - definitely better than the average French onion dip. So it's a healthy snack and also delicious. It is easy to make at home and every cook who wants to try it will be rewarded.
